Expanded Dig Site Randomization (2024)

To install move any ONE EDSR directory OR any ONE Roster and ONE Tree to ovldata (...\Jurassic World Evolution 2\Win64\ovldata). To change to a different randomization scheme simply remove the old folders from ovldata and add a different set in. Drag and drop randomization at your fingertips.

Each directory is a different randomization scheme. The EDSR files are set rosters with different randomization schemes. These are all in one sets. The Roster files and Trees files are specialized random dig site combinations. The Roster selects different reduced sets of animals, while the Tree defines how they are randomized. These can be mixed and matched by combining a Roster with a Tree. Rosters follow themes for animal sets, such as canon animals only, while trees define what selection of animals are available, such as a Jurassic World themed set with 1 hybrid, 1 aquatic, 2 pterosaurs, etc.

EDSR_Vanilla follows the base game randomziation by splitting the research trees into 2 or 3 early/mid/late game tiers and randomizing within families, but also randomizes DLC animals unlike the base game.

EDSR_Flex keeps the family-only randomization but removes the early/mid/late game tiers. Flex also removes some restrictive unlock requirements - specifically combat and gene specific conditions.

EDSR_Chaos randomizes all research nodes in each tree together.

EDSR_CT is a Chaos Theory/Camp Cretaceous themed randomizer. Concavenator stands in for Becklespinax. This was designed for use with wild captures, so animals all unlock automatically. This also includes hybrids in the randomization, which unlock 100% DNA automatically without prerequisites.

IWC is Improved Wild Captures. IWC removes the hard-coded additional star requirements for wild captures so that it functions fully with randomized dig sites. Further more, it adds hybrids to wild captures.

SkinUnlock removes research requirements for skins and patterns. The cosmetics unlock immediately at zero stars.

SOME DLC ANIMALS DON'T SEEM TO HAVE RESEARCH ICONS, SO I REUSED ICONS FOR SIMILAR ANIMALS.

ROSTER AND TREE NOTES:
Hybrids unlock automatically. This cannot be avoided if they are randomized. This is why they do not randomize in the standalone Vanilla, Chaos, and Flex files.
Ingen era rosters use all non-canon hybrids that have the component animals in the rosters.
Masrani and Biosyn eras use only canon/semicanon hybrids, except for EX which uses all hybrids that have the component animals in the rosters. Indoraptor and Spinoceratops are Biosyn era only, however.
Stegosaurids and Ankylosaurids have been merged into a Thyreophoran randomizer set. This is due to their drastic under-representation in film canon to make these roster/tree combinations work.
Scavengers have been separated into their own tree and include Oviraptor.
Therizinosaurus is reclassified as a Large Carnivore in the randomizer schemes due to appeal stats and its solitary nature. This has no gameplay effect beyond it appearing in the Carnivore research tree.
Microceratus and Lystrosaurus have been classified as Pachycephalosaurids in the randomizer for "vibes" and to make the JW style parks work with the classic JP era rosters.
Homalocephale is reclassified as a Pachycephalosaurid because it is.
Gigantoraptor is classified as a medium carnivore.
Deinocheirus is classified as a hadrosaur.
Piscivores has been removed as a research tree randomization category. Baryonyx and Suchomimus are Medium Carnivores and Spinosaurus is a Large Carnivore.

-IngenEraEX is a roster based on the classic Park trilogy canon, with extended 'canon' including the novel, comics, cut content, some video games, and toylines.
-MasraniEra is a roster based on the World era canon (Ingen+Masrani). Does not include Holoscape and DPG list. Excluded some semicanon classic Park era species.
-MasraniEraEX is a roster based on the World era canon (Ingen+Masrani). Includes Holoscape and DPG list. Includes some semicanon classic Park era species.
-BiosynEra is a roster based on the World era canon (Ingen+Masrani+Biosyn+Mantah). Includes DPG list. Does not include Holoscape. Excluded some semicanon classic Park era species.
-BiosynEraEX is a roster based on the extended World era canon (Ingen+Masrani+Biosyn+Mantah). Includes Holoscape and DPG list. Includes some semicanon classic Park era species.

TREES:
-JP15 is based on the film version of Jurassic Park. 1 Pterosaur and many carnivores. 15 species total.
-JW24 is based on the film version of Jurassic World. 14 Herbivores, 6 Carnivores, 1 Aquatic, 2 Pterosaurs, and 1 Hybrid.
-JW30 is based on the film version of Jurassic World. 14 Herbivores, 6 Carnivores, 1 Aquatic, 2 Pterosaurs, and 1 Hybrid, extended to included potential "non-displayed" species to match what is seen on-screen in JW/FK.
-Novel15 is based on the book version of Jurassic Park. 1 Pterosaur and many herbivores. 15 species total.
